This Pearl Hybrid Exotic snare drum may be unlike any other you've played. For starters, its shell is expertly crafted from tropical kapur wood and cross-laminated fiberglass for appreciable warmth and dryness. This makes it possible to get studio-usable tones without much muffling, if any. We also have to hand it to Pearl for outfitting the Hybrid Exotic Kapur Fiberglass with SuperHoop IIs. This keeps its tone nice and open, versus die-cast hoops, which can mask the punch of the wood.
